Not sure, perhaps they removed the option in the version on mount that comes with Cygwin these days.

Hi, I am trying to setup Git on server08 using your guide

but I cannot change the mount - when I enter:

mount -s --change-cygdrive-prefix /

I get "mount: unkown option --s" and list of valid option, where -s is not listed

Do i need any special commands prior to the mount -s ?

Thx.

Shannon,

Fantastic tutorial. Though I didn't use it to setup git, it was extremely useful to setup openssh on windows server 2008. Thanks a lot for your effort.

Jamie,

It looks like you've got a new line \n between /git and /home that might be the cause of your problem.
Perhaps when you created the the user?

I was unable to perform the ssh-user-config using these steps. The following error was displayed.

git@localhost ~
$ ssh-user-config
/usr/bin/ssh-user-config: line 129: csih_error_multiline: command not found
chmod: cannot access '/home/git\n/home/git': No such file or directory
mkdir: cannot create directory '/home/git\n/home/git/.ssh' : No such file or directory
*** ERROR: Creating users /home/git
/home/git/.ssh directory failed

I wiped cygwin and attempted it again and still came up with the same problem. I'm not sure why it's trying to access folder /home/git\n/home/git.

Great step by step tutorial! Usually I have to write these and blog them myself, but you've beaten me to it, and saved me the trouble of having to find out how to do this myself :)
